HELLO CARE PARTNERS AND CARE PROFESSIONALS!

Hi, I'm Jessie Hillock, M.A. SLP, CDP

After graduating with my Masters working as a speech-language pathologist in skilled nursing communities, it didn't take long to realize I needed a deeper understanding of dementia to truly support the individuals and families I was serving.

As I dove into studying more about dementia and the connection with executive function decline, it "clicked" for me that this was a huge missing link that care providers and families were not being educated on. With this deeper understanding, I began educating families, helping them decode the behaviors and characteristics they were seeing and equipping them with practical tools and strategies. Time and time again, I saw their eyes light up with "aha" moments as they learned how to better connect with their loved ones. Many told me they had never been given this kind of education before.

In 2019, I founded The Memory Compass to fill that gap, providing families with the clarity, tools, and support they need to navigate the challenges of dementia. My mission is to empower care partners like you to provide compassionate, purposeful care while finding confidence and balance in your own life.

WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE...

WHAT MAKES WORKING WITH ME DIFFERENT?

DEEP CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

With a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders and over a decade of experience working in the dementia care space, I bring a clinical understanding of executive function and neurodegenerative disorders to every session. I know how to translate complex brain changes into practical, easy-to-apply strategies that make a real difference in day-to-day care.

A MISSION ROOTED IN REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE

The Memory Compass was born from my firsthand experience of seeing families struggle without the guidance they needed. I’ve sat at care plan meetings, witnessed the overwhelm, and dedicated my career to providing clarity and support to care partners who feel lost.
